TIGERS 2024 GLADIATOR BOARDS

The Tigers connected with BallerFX to create their 2024 Gladiator board motion assets with their updated branding focused on Detroit art + culture. 

It was essential to build this toolkit with the capabilities to render a large volume of content in a short amount of time.

PACKAGE INCLUDES
- Over 60 player name + number LED assets
- General Detroit Tigers messaging in updated branding
- Boards full of graffiti style brush marks and stickers that identify iconic Detroit Baseball and culture
- Prompts with different font weights

STICKER WALL

The Tigers design squad built out a big library of stickers that represent Detroit and the tradition of the Tigers.

Mixing the sticker style of Detroit icons with youthful and fun energy of the team, this sticker wall represents a light hearted, energy driven expression of their tradition.

The hip hop inspired motion constantly moves in Z space so different stickers have their time in the front while giving them a life of their own with a steady rhythm.

PLAYER ANIMATION TOOLKIT

The Player Animation asset needed to remain flexible, so we could render out 60+ names.

This took tons of expressions.

- Tape adjusts in size depending on players position and number
- Tape remains equidistant to the right of the players first name
- Players last name has a max width and maintains its positional relationship with the first name
- Players first name is fixed to left side and top of the last name

Building and executing in this fashion allows for content to remain consistent and on brand!

IN-GAME PROMPT TOOLKIT

The prompt was one of the most challenging parts of this build because of the styling of the two different font weights and the variety of word lengths.

At this time, only one font weight is allowed per text layer, so we had to link up multiple text layers within After Effects while also constraining their combined width within the bounds.

In order to maintain the look of the multi-weighted fonts, we leveraged the spreadsheet to help identify the number of words in the prompt so we could apply the correct font weight to the appropriate words.

This allowed us to render at scale.
